Seasonal & Holiday Travel
Christmas markets, summer festivals, winter escapes, and the trips that only make sense at a specific time of year.
Travel Trends & Ideas
Set-jetting, noctourism, coolcations, and the travel ideas that are genuinely worth your attention right now.
Travel Trends, Decoded
Every January the industry invents four new words for things people already do. Here's what the current lot actually mean, and whether they're worth your attention.
Set-jetting
Booking a trip because you saw the place in a show or a film. Dubrovnik after Game of Thrones, Sicily after The White Lotus.
Worth it if you go in the off-season. These places get hammered the summer after a hit series lands.
Noctourism
Doing things after dark on purpose. Night markets, stargazing, late museum openings, aurora hunting.
Worth it if you're somewhere hot. Half the Mediterranean has been doing this for centuries, they just never named it.
Coolcations
Heading somewhere cold in summer instead of frying on a beach. Norway, Iceland, Scotland, the Baltics.
Worth it if you've done the Med and found July there increasingly unpleasant. Pack layers, not factor 50.
Slow travel
One place, properly, instead of five countries in a fortnight. Longer stays, fewer transfers, more repeat visits to the same café.
Worth it if you come home from holidays needing a holiday. It's also usually cheaper.
Destination Roundups
Curated lists of the best places to go, the most instagrammable destinations, and the trips worth booking.
Where to Go, Every Month
Not sure when to travel? Pick a month. We'll tell you where to go and why it's the right time to go there.
