Where These Facts Come From (and how accurate they are)

Where do the facts come from?

Some of these travel & tourism facts are general knowledge (the kind you’ll find in multiple reputable references). Others are based on industry sources like tourism boards, airport/aviation reporting, and big travel data publishers.

We also refresh the fact library over time. Travel changes fast, and anything that relies on stats (visitor numbers, airport rankings, “biggest” claims, etc.) can go out of date.

If you spot something that looks off, please tell me and I’ll fix it.

You can message us via our contact page.

Quick note on stats: If a fact includes a number, it’s usually true for a specific year or report period, so it may shift as new data is published.

Fact of the Day

The world’s longest commercial flight took around 30 hours.

The Qantas “Double Sunrise” flights from Australia to Sri Lanka, operating between 1943 and 1945, frequently exceeded 30 hours in duration, allowing passengers to witness two sunrises during the journey. In modern times, the longest nonstop commercial flight is Singapore Airlines’ route from Singapore to New York, which typically takes about 17 hours and 50 minutes.
