FAQs
Are these places you’ve stayed in personally?
Some are places I’ve stayed in, others are heavily researched picks I’d genuinely book myself based on location, reviews, value, and practical traveller stuff (not just pretty photos).
Do I book through you?
Nope. You book directly with the provider (like Booking.com or the hotel). If you use my links, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
What makes a hotel “favourite”?
It’s the combo of great location, comfort, solid reviews, good value for the area, and fewer “surprise problems” (noise, dodgy cleanliness, weird fees).
Are prices cheaper booking direct?
Sometimes, yes. Hotels occasionally offer member rates or perks direct. But Booking sites can have better deals too, so I always recommend checking both before you commit.
Are these picks family/budget friendly too?
Yep, I include a mix. I’ll usually flag who a stay suits best (families, couples, solo travellers, budget trips) so you’re not accidentally booking a romantic boutique hotel with paper-thin walls and zero space for a pram.
What if I need free cancellation?
Totally doable. When you’re booking, filter for “free cancellation” and double-check the cancellation deadline, because it can vary wildly even within the same hotel.
Do you include apartments/hostels as well?
Yes, when they make sense. If an apartment is better for space or longer stays, it’s in. Hostels too, but only the genuinely good ones (clean, safe, well-rated, not “party until 4am” chaos unless that’s your vibe).
