About The Travel Tinker
You’ve come to the right place to read more About Us! I’ll start by saying this site isn’t about me…
It’s nice to meet you! I’m Nick from “The Travel Tinker”, Tinkering with ideas to fuel your next trip and offering Bespoke Itineraries!
I started to really get interested in travel back in 2007 when I visited Brazil and I was hooked! If you’re ever in Brazil make sure you visit the sloths! Cute!
As I have said, this website isn’t about me, it’s about all of you! I basically have created this website to help people create their own epic trip! I believe that it’s best to teach by example, and our ultimate goal at The Travel Tinker is to show that travel can be safe, easy, and a lot of fun.
Be sure to checkout the whole site, any issues please let me know. Enjoy, and thanks for visiting!
Also a special mention to my cousin, Tom! Who sometimes helps with the IT and inner workings of the website.

I’ve been shipwrecked in South America, gone swimming in the blue waters of Caribbean, partied in Mexico, cheered on the European champions in Germany, snowboarded the Alps, and crawled through tight spaces in Budapest. I’ve even travelled to places as far-flung as Brazil to see the sloths, and quad biked the sand dunes of Tunisia.
I love to get away whenever possible, and when it comes to our trips I love to do the organising!
Favourite destination: Iceland & Germany. From the moment I first set foot there, I felt at home. I love the culture and the rich history of Germany. Amazing Country!
First international trip as an adult: Cuba! It made me fall in love with different destinations and started my obsession with travel
Favourite things to do on vacation: Take pictures, explore museums, and do the unusual (caving etc)
Weirdest place: Chernobyl! CRAZY CRAZY PLACE!
Dream trips: Antarctica , Safari, and South East Asia.
Place you’d return to again: Germany, Krakow, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland (just wow!)
Favourite meal you’ve eaten while travelling: Both of my favourite meals were Indian food! One in Prague and the other in Nuremberg. Outstanding!
Thing I love most about travel: Escaping the day to day life at home and having the freedom to make everyday exactly how you want it.
And that’s it! Be sure to checkout all our blog posts! Any questions just drop us a message!

I'm a 27-year-old photographer and travel enthusiast, journeying from place to place, immortalizing the hidden tales, unseen moments, and the narratives that lie between. Driven by imagination and wonder, my aim is to encourage others to venture both outwardly and inwardly, discovering the world and their own depths.
Dara
I’m Dara Walsh, a worldwide traveller and travel writer with a habit of booking “just a quick trip” and somehow ending up on the other side of the planet. I’m drawn to places that feel real, a bit rough around the edges in the best way, and full of stories you don’t get from a highlights reel.
Sam
I go by the name Sam, and I'm a 24-year-old digital creator and photographer. I'm passionate about embracing simpler, budget-friendly adventures as they help me appreciate the little moments in life even more. Through my content, writing, and photography, my aim is to spark inspiration in you to discover more everyday adventures.
Aiko
I’m Aiko Tanaka, a Japan-based travel writer with a soft spot for Asia’s big-hitters and its quiet corners, too. I love the kind of trips where you come home with a full camera roll, a slightly battered notebook, and a new obsession (usually a snack you can’t pronounce properly but will absolutely hunt down again).
Claire
I am a storyteller, podcaster, and global explorer deeply intrigued by the nuances of unconventional living. Over the years, I transitioned from conforming to conventional norms to embracing a life that defies the ordinary. I traded the routine 9-5 job for the adventurous slopes of Canada as a ski instructor. Since then, the world has been my canvas, continuously journeying through its vast and varied landscapes.
Freddie
I’m Freddie, a traveller who decided that life was a bit too short to spend it behind a desk. A few years ago, I packed a bag and set off to see what the world actually looks like, and I haven't really stopped since. From navigating the chaos of Southeast Asian markets to finding quiet corners in the Balkans, I’m all about those authentic, local experiences.
Logan
Hey there, I'm Logan, a wandering soul with a passion for uncovering the world's hidden gems. From sipping coffee in cozy Parisian cafés to hiking rugged trails in Patagonia, I chase experiences that spark joy and curiosity. My blog is a scrapbook of adventures, filled with tips, stories, and photos from off-the-beaten-path destinations. Whether it's savoring street food in Bangkok or stargazing in the Sahara, I’m here to inspire your next journey.
Michelle
Hi, I'm Michelle, a middle-aged adventurer rediscovering the world one trip at a time. After years of balancing career and family, I’m now embracing my love for travel with a fresh perspective. From exploring ancient ruins in Greece to savoring wine in Tuscany’s rolling hills, I seek destinations that blend culture, history, and relaxation. My blog posts share practical advice, heartfelt stories, and inspiration for fellow travelers proving it’s never too late to chase wanderlust. Join me as I navigate new horizons and find joy in life’s next chapter!
Christine Choi
Growing up in China, I was surrounded by huge contrasts, buzzing cities one minute and quiet mountain towns the next. That’s probably why I travel the way I do now: I’ll happily spend a morning in a museum or temple, then finish the day elbow-deep in a night market, taste-testing everything that smells good (and occasionally something that looks suspiciously spicy). I’m especially drawn to places with strong culture, beautiful landscapes, and public transport that lets you actually relax and watch the world roll by.
