Other Gear to Bring: A small backpack for carrying a water bottle, snacks (if your tour allows), and a lightweight camera if you like. Nothing BIG!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Are the caves open all year round?

Most tours operate year-round, but double-check for any seasonal closures.

Budapest’s caves generally have good air circulation. If you have concerns, consult your doctor beforehand.

The caves maintain a cool, constant temperature throughout the year, making them refreshing in summer and a bit chilly in winter (so dress accordingly!).

For most people, caving is adventurous and exciting, not scary. If you’re concerned about darkness or tight spaces, a guided cave walk might be a better option for your first caving experience.

While bats can be found in some caves, it depends on the specific cave system and time of year.
